About The Understanding Experience

The why’s and “baby eyes”

This site is about Experience – humans experiencing life, and users experiencing design. In today’s world the two are merging quickly and here is the place where we bring them together, sharing value and exploration in both experience arenas.

Much of the deterioration of value in our learning comes from over-valuing hand-me-down perspective as Truth. But let’s face it, none of us know what we’re doing. We’re all at different places on our journeys to create our own meaning. By embracing our “baby eyes'“, we accept that there are things we don’t know we don’t know so we can continually rediscover new joy within ourselves and our world.

Yeah, that UX too.

If you’re in tech, you’ve probably clocked how this site’s name bumps right up against UX – not a mistake. User-experience strategy and design is a discipline touching a wonderfully vast array of influences, each playing a valuable role in defining an interactive experience. The field is truly a magical paradigm, encouraging humility, curiosity, exploration, discovery, and innovation – but the field is a silo.

So I ask you, if the User experience arena is so well-defined and always growing and learning, why is there no organized or accessible arena for Life experiences. We’re are all navigating them, techies and non-techies alike, constantly.
